It’s not just the big moments you should be proud of yourself - like when you get a promotion, new job, degree, engagement, or new house. If you wait for those moments, you’re missing out on all the moments in between.
Lynn shares why it’s necessary to recognize the milestones that get you to those big moments.
In this video you’ll hear:
- Times when Lynn is proud of herself.
- Why it’s important to recognize the “little” moments, too.

Lynn Morgan Carpenter: I'll give you just a few personal examples of when I'm very proud of myself. And one is, you know, doing something that is hard and there are times when we are called to the carpet and we have to go in and do something that's hard, and then seeing that we're on the other side of it and that it was the best thing for us. That is, those are moments that I'm proud of myself. When I do something that's bold and I know it, that it took courage to do and I'm not attached to the outcome, but goodness, I stood in my boldness and my courage and I did it. That those are moments that I'm very proud of myself. When I listen to my body and my body is saying, my goodness, I need rest right now. And I provide that for my body, I am proud of myself in those moments.
So those are just a few moments. I have plenty because I go through this often. I go through this exercise, if not daily, almost daily. And it is something that just allows me to keep a healthy mindset. And particularly when I'm having those moments of feeling a little more heavy, being able to shift that to more of that lightness. Because again, when you go on this path of recognizing what you are proud of, and let me tell you, we're not fully talking about the achievements, the rewards, the success. It can be that and that's great, but I also want you to give yourself this gift to where you're not having to wait until, oh, I finished my degree. Okay, now I'm feeling really proud of myself. Because that's many years that's keeping you from that. But it's those little moments, the wins in between, that you can also be proud of and really relish in that and allow that to fuel your life and give you the joy because only from those proud moments and recognizing them, the emotion is joy that follows it. So this is our focus, is really being able to be our best friend and recognize the moments daily that we are proud of ourselves for. So I can't wait to hear how this goes for you and stay tuned because I'll be supporting you to go on this path of really just claiming and standing within the power of being proud of who you are and how you operate in this life and your wins that are taking place every single day.
