Just Get to B

Knowing we want to get to our new beginning, complete our new goals, and live that vision we’ve been creating for ourselves can be a bit overwhelming now that it’s time to take action. It’s ok not to know each and every step that you need to take to get there.

In this video you’ll hear:

  • We had all this excitement moving into this new year with our new beginning.
  • Now that it’s here, it feels heavy not quite knowing what steps we need to take.

[01:11] A to Z thinking

  • This concept is very black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking.
  • I’m at step A and I need to be at step Z.
  • This leaves us feeling stuck and questioning if this really is what we want to do.

[01:50] Get to B 

  • You can’t go directly from A to Z. 
  • Just get to B.
  • Ask yourself: what step can you take? What choices can you make? What behaviors can you adopt? 
  • Now you’re at B! 
  • Do it all again to get to C. What is your action step, behaviors, thoughts, and choices that will take you to C?

  • All your desires are still for you, still your future!
  • When you’re feeling overwhelmed, remember, just get to step B. Then C…
  • You deserve this.

Lynn Morgan CarpenterAs we are making steps towards what it is that our vision is, what it is that we are desiring in our life, the shifts, the changes, the um, new beginnings, our new focal points, our new goals, whatever the, the language is for you and what resonates with you. At times when we start to usher into this new phase, so the new year being a new phase, we have this energy and excitement for all the possibilities. And then as we trot in the month, at times, we can get a little weighted down by what are my steps and is this really possible for me? So there's a lot of like the negative thinking or, or self-doubt that will enter in. And also with having that long game, that vision at times it can be really paralyzing of not really knowing, okay, well how do I get to the vision?

How do I get to that long-term goal? How do I receive that? And when we don't have full clarity of exactly how to get from A to Z, we at times can shut down and then we find ourselves being in a stuck position once again. So I wanna introduce to you a concept of A to Z thinking, and that's a very black or white, all or nothing, that if I'm at A, and I don't know all the steps right now, have had to get to Z, I'm gonna do nothing or, um, because I don't know or have clarity of what all those steps are, this desire I have is frivolous or not meaningful. All of that just comes in and does a huge wrecking ball of sabotaging what it is that's within our hearts, what it is that our soul is calling for. And so I wanna help you of saying, rather than focusing on the A to Z, just merely focus on how to get to B.

 You're at a what step can you take, what choices can you make? What behaviors can you adopt to get to B? And then when you're at B, you can do a determination of what is it that you need to do to get to C? What is my action step? What are my choices? What is my behavior? What are my thoughts need to be to get to C? And that is how you can gain momentum to get to the place of what you're visualizing for yourself for 2023, and to have that light and to have that moment of hope and possibility. Because all those possibilities, all the things you were feeling at the end of December, and like, yes, it's a new year, bring it on. They're still there and exist for you. All those possibilities still are there waiting for you. So I am coming in here today just to help you that if you've noticed the energy of some resistance or like, well, that was just hopeful thinking or feeling or the things I thought I was going to do, I haven't even started to do them, or I'm not doing them in the way that, that I thought or that I should. 

Oh my goodness. Just take a deep breath. Be kind to yourself, have grace for yourself, and just merely think about, okay, I'm at A, what do I need to do to get to B? We're gonna shrink this down. We're gonna make it a little more simple, little more easy so that we keep moving forward because you are worth it. Your life is worth it and your desires are worth it.
